VINTAGE NELSON ROCKEFELLER POLITICAL PINBACK BUTTON "LEADERSHIP LET'S KEEP IT"
This original mid-century Nelson Rockefeller pinback is from when Rockefeller campaigned for New York State Governor. He was the 49th Governor of NY from 1959-1973.
It is 1" diameter. On the curve of the button is the button company:
EMPRESS SPECIALTY CO. N.Y., 10 N.Y.
There is also the logo
LPIU
centered in a blue diamond outline.
Front is in excellent shape -- writing clear, no fading, marks, tears or tarnishing. Back of button has some rust that can be removed with proper cleaning. See photos from all angles.
The political button is authentic. My father loved political buttons and railroad memorabilia. He traded and bought buttons with others through a national button club. In his log he catalogued this button as # 502 in his growing collection, and purchased it on 11/4/72 through a national political button collective known as N.P.B.E. I believe it is no longer in existence.
