The copper coins of Batu were struck in the name of the dead Abbasid Caliph al-Nasir  (1180-1225). These copper coins seem to have been struck with the dies used in striking silver dirhams in Bulghar, thus the attribution to this mint. Copper coins of Batu are rare.
