    Description

    ONE
    HALF
DOZEN Swedish Flower Hen hatching eggs
from the "Smith" line of Stony Rock Farm in Hillsborough, NC. After 4 years of perfecting our flock from a variety of breeders across the US, we are proud to say that our flock is the product of our dedication to the breed. Free of split wings and sprigs, our flock has been bred for impeccable flowering and coloration and wonderful temperament.  Our flock consists of one crested roo, two non-crested roos, and 17 hens (all non-crested), giving you diversity of color and "hair style". None of our stock has come from Greenfire.
    NPIP & AI clean
Hailing from Sweden, this is not a rare breed but rather an “imported” breed that is not found in your local feed stores. Swedish Flower Hens are prolific layers of cream colored eggs. As the hens mature, the eggs get larger, topping out at a "large" sized egg. The flock as a whole displays diversity in coloration and patterns, no two birds looking alike. They are not only great family birds, but they are a great free ranging flock as well.  The roosters are great protectors of the flock and not one of ours has turned a side eye towards us nor our children. As practical and hardy as they are impressive and poised, these have, by far, been our favorite breed to raise.
Please read the following before purchasing....
    Promises and guarantees
Your eggs will be FRESH. Laid no more than 3 days prior to your purchase and stored properly in a temperature controlled environment, pointed tip down.
Your eggs will be UNWASHED, but clean. Anything with more mud than I can wipe off with a damp rag will not be sent. There is a protective bloom on the egg when it is laid that keeps harmful bacteria out. Scrubbing and or washing under water can lessen the hatchability of the egg. No soap or detergent will ever come near those precious eggs either.
Your eggs will be packaged with the utmost care and diligence. Each egg is wrapped individually, twice before being boxed, pointed tip down. I can accommodate special shipping requests AT ADDITIONAL COST.
I will make this egg buying experience as flawless as I possibly can. I am happy to discuss special requests. It does me no good for you to receive broken eggs. I take pride in my customer service. I have great reviews for a reason.
I will provide as many extra eggs as I can. That may be 2, that may be 6. It's entirely luck of the draw and based on availability.
    Policy and procedures
Upon payment, please let me know in a quick message if you would like your eggs held at post office (recommended) or delivered to your home.
I will let you know an anticipated ship date within 24 hours.
Be advised, there may be a waiting list. Please check with me before buying if this poses any problems for you. I will not refund and your order will be processed in the order in which it was received.
I strongly recommend you have your eggs held at the post office for pickup. This not only lets them sit and rest for a short time, there is less tumbling, fumbling, and temperature changing trauma to the eggs. Your phone number will be on the box for your post office to call you upon their arrival. Or your can follow their progress by tracking number.
Sending them directly to your home is an option and is entirely YOUR RISK. I am happy to accommodate either way.
Buyers remorse will not be entertained for any reason.
    Shipping and return policy
Your eggs will be insured through USPS for the full amount paid. Should any eggs arrive broken, it is up to you to file the insurance claim.
All eggs are shipped Priority (2-3 days). I am happy to send them Express at your expense. In my experience, they have not gotten anywhere overnight or in less than 1 day.
USPS reports potential delays. I have not experienced that yet (listing updated 3/4/21). It is not anything in my control.
Boxes are not marked as "eggs" EVER. Even if you pay twice as much. They always get mishandled. Boxes get one "Fragile" sticker. This has been my best luck for not having boxes punted across the post office by disgruntled postal workers.
    No refunds
    are given and
    no returns
    are accepted.
Due to being scammed and taken advantage of, I will not send any free eggs for replacement. File the insurance claim, get your money back, and buy again (or don't if you are that unhappy). This is the most fair and most optimal way for you and for me.
If you need assistance filing the claim, I am more than happy to guide you through the process. If for some reason, your claim is denied, please contact me directly with photos of box and eggs.
Shipping costs cover postage, my materials, and time spent in packaging and taking to post office.
I DO NOT GUARANTEE ANY HATCH RATES.
Because of differing incubators and incubation techniques, hatchability varies widely. How you choose to incubate your eggs is entirely out of my control.
Just because your eggs do not hatch does not mean they are not fertile.
Shipping eggs also takes a toll on even the most well packaged egg. Temperature changes, pressure changes, and handling by USPS all play a factor in hatch rates. These factors are out of my control.
Scrambling and detached air cells happen. It is the gamble we take when buying shipped eggs. I promise the eggs will be as wrapped as best as possible.
I am happy to help you along your incubation journey in any way that I can.
    If you are not comfortable
with any of the above, please contact me and I will do my best to ease your mind. Or please find another source for SFH eggs.
