    represents wisdom;
    the olive branch
    is a symbol of the goddess’s peaceful
    victory
    over Poseidon for the city of Athens.
    These sacred symbols propagated Athenian
    values
    of victory, peace, and wisdom throughout
    the ancient world,
    and are still
    featured on the Greek €1 coin.
    These Owl coins funded the building of the
    Acropolis and
    Parthenon in Athens,
    as well as funding the
    Peloponnesian War (431-404 BC)
    between
    Athens and Sparta.
    Origin
    This particular owl coin pendant was
    cast from
    the original museum piece in Chicago,
    for their museum store.
