We have great Mix of bantam sized chickens. Their eggs are smaller but incredibly consistent layers. There is also always one who is broody. I like this. I take eggs that are nearly done from the incubator and stuff them under my broody bantam and voila! Baby chicks that I don’t have to look after. I’ve given 12 full size eggs and she hatched them.
The breeds included in the barn yard mix include Silkies, Polish Crested, Plymouth Barred Rock, Red Laced Wyandotte, Frizzle and Smooth in Serama size. My Key West Hen had some little chicks with both my Sultan Roo and the Red Laced Wyandotte. The result are blue egg laying mini hens that are smart, good foragers and lay lots of eggs. Our magical Black Pullet is one such hen. We call her our lucky hen. Our bantam variety is unique and we get smooth, fluffy and frizzles as well as mini Turken bantams.
They lay eggs of all colors, blue, brown, green blue, tint, white.
I pack my eggs very carefully. But no egg shipper can promise you a hatch. Traveling Eggs run the risk off being shaken so much that they scramble inside. I do everything I can to give them the very best start. I use the same postal distribution hub that Greenfire Farms uses and those postal workers respect the egg boxes. If you get broken eggs take pictures, file a claim with the post office and for a fee I will ship replacement eggs one time. It’s important for you to understand that we can’t do anything about mishandling by the USPS. Some farms won’t label boxes as hatching Eggs because they believe the postal workers deliberately drop and mishandle the boxes. I’m not that cynical.
Dragonborn Farm is a small family farm located in north Florida. We are a creative family originally from the Seattle area. We bought the farm last year after living for several years in Key West where we rescued a Key West hen from a canal.
Our farm raises livestock birds but all are more pets than farm animals. We have many heritage breed chickens, ducks, Turkey, Peafowl and Emus. Almost all of the money from the EBay sales supports these animals.
We donate eggs, day old chickens and juvenile meat birds to a family that shares them with the needy through a local church.
We are also the home of the Black Lotus Memorial Garden dedicated to the art of Christopher Rush the late Magic the Gathering and Pokémon artist and my husband.
