SIGMA GENESIS 2000 MC Cartridge Gold Coil ZYX H. Nakatsuka Monster USA from 1989

Description

This, was said to be the spare cartridge -- stored for years after return from rebuild service rendered by SoundSmith, Peter Ledermann’s shop in Peekskill, NY. Included are provenance documents, dating from 2013, when the cartridge was probably returned from rebuild, and stored away as a spare (as I was told).
The Sigma Genesis series of Moving Coil carts, were said to be made by Hisayoshi Nakatsuka’s ZYX, (the same guy who designed the Accuphase AC series).
The Genesis 2000, was further said to be an extended response, upgraded gold coil version of the 1000 model, and also is said to feature the  Diamond Carbon, Boron Cantilever,
that made the 1000 so deeply loved.. (Boron is fairly exotic for use in cantilever tubes).

Consider this sort of cartridge, only if you are
amongst the most experienced and dedicated vinyl hobbyists. These are considered heirloom, so if you purchase, do so with the knowledge they do require care in setup (including the essential Moving Coil capable preamp or...Step Up Trans), handling and long term upkeep.
Esoteric, ultra gosomer, late 80’s ultimate Phono-tech -- if you’re reading this deep, then you surely know how seldom these come up for sale.
I wish I could render exact history on use and condition of this unit…
Everything as you see it in photos. I have no way to test it’s performance, and I don’t have anyway to confirm or deny that it’s not been used (if any) since it’s return in 2013.
From the estate of an early 1990’s audiophile / mega vinyl LP (VPI TNT air bearing)  hobbyist.
It’s securely mounted in it’s beautiful protective package, and while in my possession, as never been removed
I also shot several hi-res macro’s that show the cantilever and stylus tip pretty well, so.. be sure to zoom in. It’ looks to be very nice, aside from the minute dust that’s there from years of careful storage.
