If you want your eggs shipped same day please message my Facebook page, Backus Farmstead, to place your order as payments sent through eBay are held for up to a week. I will not ship until I get a payment.
100% fertilization and hatchrate here at the farm.
Do not purchase these eggs if you do not understand that shipped eggs are a gamble. I cannot control your hatchrate once you receive the eggs. Too many variables with the post office handling or homemade incubators, which I do not recommend. The PO has been rough lately so purchase at your own risk. I do not refund nor do I replace eggs that do not hatch or do not develop. Goes back into the handling during shipping.
When you receive your eggs please let them rest for at least 24 hours pointy end down before incubation. This allows them to come to room temperature as well as settle. If the air cells have become detached you can place them in the incubator without turning for 3-4 days after sitting the inital 24 hours after delivery. Usually by day 4-5 you can see development in your eggs. You may place them in the turner and begin turning. If you are manually turning you will need to turn at least 3 times per day.
Fertility cannot be checked once incubation has begun. It can only be checked by incubating at least 4-5 days or cracking open an egg prior and checking. Just because an egg does not develop does not mean it was not fertilized.

Chicken eggs incubate for a total of 21 days. Lockdown occurs at day 18.
Fact 1: Fertility cannot be checked by candling an egg prior to incubation.
Fact 2: Fertility cannot be checked after incubation has begun.
Fact 3: The only way to check fertility is to incubate the eggs and wait for development or crack the egg open prior.
Again, I do not guarantee your hatchrate. The only thing I guarantee is that these eggs leave my hands in perfect condition for hatching.
Please be patient when waiting for eggs to ship. I do not start collecting eggs until I receive a payment that way the eggs are as fresh as possible.
