    Description

SafeCell 360® Wireless Policy Enforcement Management (WPEM)
    Solution Summary
SafeCell 360® WPEM incorporates the SafeCell Enterprise® solution addressing Distracting While Driving “DWD” and the capabilities of a Mobile Device Management “MDM” solution. This new solution integrates the best in class from each solution respectfully. Creating a one of kind end to end solution that addresses DWD for all opportunity segments i.e. consumer, teenage drivers, tweens, enterprise employees, and AVL/Fleet drivers.
    The
    SafeCell 360® WPEM
provides these segments with the ability to apply complete control over the devices at an operating system level, hardware level, software level and hours of service level “HOS”. The SafeCell 360® solution will bring to the consumer segment the full capabilities of an enterprise level MDM for both the enterprise and parents to control their devices i.e. iPhone, iPad, Android and tablets. This control can be applied regardless of operating system iOS®, Android®, Windows® or Blackberry®.
The integration of these technologies into the SafeCell 360® WPEM solution provides for a platform to address DWD at an unprecedented level. SafeCell 360® WPEM has the ability to apply enterprise and users policies at the OS configuration level based on predefined parameters for In-Motion, Non-Motion, Real-time Location and Hours of Service just to name a few. These policy parameters can be applied automatically with no user interaction what so ever. This control is accomplished by fully integrating the existing MDM’s unique API’s that are only available to MDM solution providers. SafeCell 360® WPEM leverages the MDM engine API’s behind the MDM/EMM solutions. The EMM/MDM/MAM solutions are recognized as the industry standard for securing and applying corporate policies. The integration of the MDM engine API’s with the SafeCell 360® WPEM capabilities will be unique in the industry. These combined technologies will allow for control of mobile devices at levels previously not available due to API limitations from the OEM’s i.e. Apple®.
SafeCell 360® WPEM will provide exponential gains in efficiencies’. The new solution will provide.
Full integration and utilization of the over the air technology, security and MDM enterprise solutions.
This will allow for immediate rollout and adoption by the enterprise as an additional feature for all EMM/MDM providers.
    Global solution.
    Cross carrier solution.
The ability to an existing customer base already on the MDM solution in excess of an estimate 5 million enterprise customers.
Faster sales closure rates from engagement to implementation.
Centralized solution for all management dash boards with full integration with telematics solutions.
Elimination of the requirement to certify new devices at the hardware level on new product introduction. Eliminating certification cycles.
Ability to apply the control to tablets.
The solution will be available for all mobile platforms iPhone, Windows, Blackberry, and Android via a centralized MDM solution
SafeCell 360® WPEM Overview - Managing Mobile and Tablet Devices
Management of mobile devices takes place via a connection to a SafeCell 360® Wireless Policy Enforcement Management (WPEM) server. This server will be hosted by an IT third-party solution provider or in-house. The devices communicate with the server to see if there are tasks pending and responds with the appropriate actions. These tasks can include updating mobile policies, providing requested device or network information, or removing settings and data.
Most management functions are completed behind the scenes with no user interaction required. For example, if the company or individual changes its wireless policies for mobile device use while driving, the SafeCell 360® (WPEM) server can configure the devices with the new Wireless Policy Configuration Profile over the air. The next time that SafeCell is mobile application is engaged, the appropriate Wireless Policy Configuration Profile will be applied to the devices.
    SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server Management
With SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server, there are a number of functions the SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server can perform on mobile devices. These tasks include installing and removing Configuration and Provisioning Profiles, Managing Apps, Wireless Policy Configuration Profile, and ending the SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server.
    SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server Configuration
During the initial process of configuring a device, the SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server pushes the Wireless Policy Configuration Profile to the mobile devices and is installed behind the scenes. Over time, the Wireless Policy Configuration Profile settings may need to be updated or changed. To make these changes, the SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server can apply a new Wireless Policy Configuration Profile dynamically at any time. Additionally, context-specific configurations may need to be installed on the mobile devices, depending on a user’s location or role in the organization. As an example, if a user is traveling internationally, the SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server can push to the mobile device a new Wireless Policy Configuration Profile based on the countries the user would be traveling through.
SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server Managed Apps
The SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server can manage third-party apps from the OS manufacturers Apps Stores such as iTunes® Apps or Google® Play, as well as enterprise in-house applications. The SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server can remove managed apps and their associated data on demand or specify whether the apps are removed when the SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server profile is removed.
Managed devices with SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server
Enrolled devices that are activated using SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server can be “supervised,” enabling additional settings and restrictions to be installed. Once a device is supervised with SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server, all Wireless Policy settings and restrictions can be installed over the air via SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server as well.
    SafeCell 360® WPEM Implementation Strategy
    SafeCell 360®
client is installed to the target device
    SafeCell 360® client
installs and runs in the background to its current design
Once it determines that the device is in motion based on our existing configuration policy design it will:
    SafeCell 360®
client will send a ping/single to the
    SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server
The MDM looks at the device profile configuration on the
    SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server
    The
    SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server
will apply the profile configuration rules by:
By pushing the profile configuration file to the device via the Apple Push Notification Service or over the air. Applying the appropriate limitations to the device.
This NEW functionality it will be possible by leveraging the OS manufacturers available MDM API’s within the
    SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server
    .
    SafeCell 360®
client will operate with all of the current capabilities with the addition of the following NEW capability
    SafeCell 360® client
will initiate a ping to the portal based on a predefined interval to log its last real time position.
This will allow the enterprise or consumer to identify the device(s) location in the event that the enterprise or consumer needs to contact the device via a text message in the case of an emergency.
Secondary User Interface will be developed to plot the location of the devices based on a predefined list set of GPS grids or plot the single device within Google Maps.
Once SafeCell determines that the trip has ended based on the "Stop Trip" configuration:
    SafeCell 360®
client will send a ping/single to the
    SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server
indicating that the trip has ended.
    The
    SafeCell 360® (WPEM) Server
will remove the In-Motion profile configuration rules by:
By pushing the profile configuration file to the device. Applying Non-Motion profile configuration to the device.
The application will compress and upload the trip details to the SafeCell portal to the user’s profile.
