    Description

    This coin was issued under
King Nejm al Ghazi I al Sa'id
    (AH 637-658, 1239-1260 AD),
    Artuqids of Maridin,
    Seljuqs in Middle East Region.
The Artuqids was a Turkoman dynasty that
    ruled in eastern Anatolia
, Northern Iraq in 11th through 13th centuries.
    The Artuqid dynasty ruled
    the three branches
in the region : the region around Hasankeyf between 1102 -1231,
    Mardin
and Mayyafariqin between 1106-1186 and Aleppo between 1117-1128.
    The
    Maridin branch survived for longer
, but as a vassal of the Ayyubids, Sultanate of Rum, Ilkhanate and the Timurids.
The Kara Koyunlu captured Maridin and finally out an
end to Artuqid rule in 1409.
