    Description

This unit is designed to do one thing, and to do that one thing with as close to perfection as possible. That is to deliver all the vibrations of your favorite music on vinyl to your amplifier - with perfect clarity and efficiency, and no coloration. Only that which is needed to perform this function is designed in - simply purist audio performance.
My favorite turntable of all time, & I own & have owned many. I bought this in 1993, and have used it very little, so unit has very little wear.
I have had an ebay search active for over 10 years now to alert me whenever this JVC model (QL-A75) comes up for sale. I think that in 10-12 years, I have seen maybe 4 of these come up for sale, so this unit is either very rare, or those who own one like it so much they want to keep it. I suspect it is both . . . I have never seen one for sale with an original JVC cartridge - the one that came with it from the factory.
This one comes with the original JVC moving coil cartridge (MC-200E), and a brand new matching Audio-Technica moving coil needle assembly (ATN3100E = elliptical diamond needle) specifically designed for this cartridge ( I just bought it new). Again - a very, very rare offering. If you know or have researched moving coil cartridges, ones of similar quality sell for 0-0, and most are not made with replaceable needle assemblies like this one is. That means that, if you wear out or break or bend a needle on most of the moving coil cartridges available for sale today, you have to replace the whole thing for ~0, instead of simply replacing the needle for ~ 5.00. Bonus!
Cosmetically, this unit is excellent with only a very few areas that are not perfect. There is a minor spot near the up/down button that is hard to see, one small light scratch on the polished wood just in front of that, and there are light scratches on the acrylic dust cover - one imperfection on the back side of that. Other than that, it looks nearly perfect to me - not bad for a classy vintage item of such beauty.
Note that I will be posting a Pioneer C-90 "control amp" with circuitry to accommodate the 3 different phono cartridge designs very soon, with perfectly matching wood sides to the wood on this beautiful turntable. I may also post the matching Pioneer power amp - the M-90, if I can ever get the damn thing fixed.
Functionally, I have never seen any aspect of this unit that does not operate perfectly as designed. The tone arm gimble system is the best design I know of, and the highest end turntables use a similar design. All tone arm adjustments are very well designed and operate perfectly. I just replaced the needle & cartridge tonight, and performed all the appropriate alignments on the unit per the JVC service manual. Tracking force is set at 1.75 grams ( & tested for perfect tracking @ 1.5 grams). Anti-skate was then set to match & is very stable.
Reasoning for the pricing of this assembly (turntable/tone arm/cartridge/ & needle): There is only one other unit for sale this year & most of last, and it shows corrosion, and no cartridge or needle, so there are no comparable units to use as a guide. The guides I do have are that the simple straight aluminum tube tone arms are selling for 0.00 - this part of the unit represents less than 10% of the key aspects of this unit. Comparable moving coil cartridge/needle assemblies are about 0.00. These  2 items add up to about 0.00. This does not include the acoustic suspension system, the cabinet, the cover, the direct drive motor, control electronics, and platter, or the tone arm pivot & suspension systems.
    I feel like I have priced it fairly . . .
Unit comes with the original JVC needle (broken though) if wanted, and a printed copy of the JVC service manual, that has all aspects of operating and maintaining this magnificent unit. Does not include the "S" tonearm.
