  • Condition: This 1992 Bush Quayle Republican National Convention presidential campaign button has never been worn. I elected to list this pin as being used only because it is over 30 years old and has been in my possession since I attended the RNC here in Houston, Texas. The piece is in wonderful condition and looks much like the day I received it.

    vintage 1992 GOP Republican National Convention George H.W. Bush and Dan Quayle presidential campaign button
    that I personally obtained when the RNC was being held in the Astrodome here in Houston, Texas back in the day.
    The celluloid button measures approximately 2-2/16" by 2-2/16" square and has a clutch pin back.  The front of the button is red and features a smiling gray elephant with its big ears spread far apart.  There is a black & white photo of
    George Bush
    seen in the middle of the elephant's left ear and a B&W photograph of
    Dan Quayle
    in the right ear.  Above the elephant's head is the year date "
    1992
    " and below are the initials "
    G O P
    " with the elephant's truck cleverly forming the letter "
    O
    ".
    The button has been stored inside a clear plastic bag for more than 20 years and has not been removed up until recently when I removed it in preparation for listing the piece on eBay.  This 30 plus year old presidential campaign button is in beautiful condition and represents a more innocent and civil time in American politics.  This button would make a fantastic addition to any George H. W. Bush and/or presidential campaign memorabilia collection.
