KM 23, three year type, from an unusual location. Saint Helena is located in the South Atlantic, about 1,100 miles west of Angola. Ascension is located about 700 miles northwest of Saint Helena. Quarter dollar size copper-nickel coin, with Dolphins on the reverse.
Saint Helena is the island to which Napoleon was exiled, after the Battle of Waterloo, and it is where he died. At the time, the island was so bleak that one of the women in Napoleon's entourage reportedly committed suicide by jumping overboard as they approached the island.
