This book by acclaimed miniaturist Brian Nicholls was published in paperback in 1999 by David & Charles of Devon, UK.
It is full of stunning photographs and diagrams along with full plans and instructions to complete five charming and intricate dolls' houses.
*   Traditional cider barn.  This is a typical rural building with a thatched roof.  Full instructions are included to enable you to make the press itself and the apple mill.
*   Forge, complete with anvil and bellows.  This has the same basic building as the Cider Barn, with the addition of a chimney.  The contents include the forge hearth and smoke-hood, water tank, bellows, and anvil.
*   Country Pub is a representation of a small country pub.  The bar area, which extends the whole width of the ground floor, includes the bar itself, bottle shelf, and a rack for barrels.  A landing, small sitting room and one bedroom are provided on the first floor.  A store has been added to the left-hand end of the building.
*   Electrically-powered water mill.  The workings here follow as closely as possible to those traditional used for a water mill.  An undershop water-wheel, which is chain-driven from a small electric motor, operates all the essential features such as millstones, sack hoist, and flour dresser.  A small, one up, one down, cottage is attached to the mill, with access over the millstream by a plank bridge.
*   Grand Georgian house.  This grand house has nine rooms.  On the ground floor is a large central hall opening on to the kitchen and dining room.  A double staircase leads to the library above, which connects with the main bedroom, drawing room and the balcony at the front.  The central room on the second floor is equipped as a schoolroom, with a small bedroom at each side.  A drawer with a drop down front is incorporated in the base to  provide a pull-out garden with iron railings at the front and steps leading up to the house.
