The D3000 TK 9.0 Transducers Kit
introduces students to the operation of
a range of transducers and their use in
electronic systems.
The transducers kit has been designed
specifically to operate within a DIGIAC
modular electronics program. Typical topic areas include:
Electronic systems
Logic gates
Combinational logic systems
Problem solving
Typical activities include:
Identify the input, process and output
units of common systems.
Explain why signal conditioning is
necessary in some electronic systems.
Investigate the action of the following
types of transducers:
Slotted optoswitch
Reflective optoswitch
LDR sensor
Light level sensor
Temperature sensor
Potentiometer
Tilt switch
Microswitch
Suggest practical applications for each
transducer.
Set up and investigate 2-input and 3-input
AND and OR gates.
Identify AND and OR gate IC packages.
Draw symbols and complete truth tables
for NOT, AND and OR circuits.
Represent the function of NOT, AND and
OR gates in Boolean notation.
Set up and complete a truth table for a
given circuit.
Design and investigate simple logic
circuits.
Distinguish between circuit, block, logic
and component layout diagrams.
Design and test a half adder circuit.
Design and evaluate systems to solve
simple problems.
