“Deathlayer” the name says it all for this rare and beautiful German breed. Deathlayers chickens got their name from the German word Totleger which means “Deathlayer”. This remarkable breed gets their name from laying an egg per day until the day they die. Deathlayers will lay around 250 medium sized white to off white eggs per year per hen. Deathlayers are average sized, love to free range if possible and are great foragers. However, these birds can survive in controlled environments as well. We have found this breed to have excellent temperament around our handlers here at the farm.
Deathlayers are extremely rare of even the rare breed poultry community, with a little over 1,500 of these birds in existence even in Germany. If you are looking for a remarkable addition to your back yard flock then look no farther than this excellent German breed. These birds have strikingly beautiful feather colorations of white, black and some purple outlines.
With all hatching eggs we can only guarantee safe and delivery of the eggs.  While our hatch rates are quite high we can't guarantee that you will experience the highest hatch rates as the shipping process and be tough on hatching. We ship with custom foam cutouts to ensure the safest delivery posable.
