I wrote this book after 42 years or keeping and breeding Button quail.  Yes thats right, I obtained my first button quail in 1973, and I have kept and breed them for 42 consecutive years. This is the ONLY  BOOK AVAILABLE on Button Quail that provides detailed information about the various mutations and their genetics.   There are other Button quail books on the market
but I guarantee none of them
discuss the color varieties available today their genetics and how to breed them to make interesting combinations.
The book is divided in to two very distinct sections with several chapters in each.
The first section
covers methods I have used to breed and raised Button Quail.   I have kept and breed many exotic birds for over 40 years and use all of that knowledge in how I keep and breed my button quail.  After all of the years of doing this I still learn new things each year.
I don't BS, its straight forward clear cut info on what is important.
The  Chapters in this first section include, handling and transporting quail, diet, housing, notes on behavior, sexing button quail, breeding button quail,  natural vs. artificial incubation of eggs,  raising and feeding the chicks, and more.
The second section
on genetics of the Button Quail is based on my own observations of breeding and combining these new color mutations during the last 20 years. This is not information I obtained elsewhere, but rather discoveries I made when breeding the various new mutations.  I discuss the origin and genetics of all of the colors known, Cinnamons, Red Breasted, Blue Face, Golden Pearls, Tuxedos, and many more.
I know them all in great detail.
I even discuss the origin of names like "Darth Vader and Rusty Nail"  its all in the book.
I provide detail descriptions of all of the varieties, as well as information on how to breed these color varieties in order to produce these some very interesting combinations.
