    The Philadelphia Athletics waived righthander
    John "Bob" Savage
    following the 1948 season and he was claimed by the St. Louis Browns. Savage made four early-season relief appearances for the '49 Browns, allowing 15 baserunners in seven innings of work. Although he never again played in the majors, he did enjoy several more seasons playing in the Pacific Coast League. Images of Bob Savage with the A's are easy enough to find, but photos of him with the Browns are few and far between.
