The Pita Pinta is the only chicken breed native to the Asturian region of Northern Spain where it traces its origins to the same chickens that were the foundational stock for the hardy Basque Hens.
They are rare; only about 2,000 of them exist today. The Pita Pinta is represented in four color varieties, and at Greenfire Farms we imported the two most flamboyant of those varieties, the black mottled (Pinta Negra) and red mottled (Pinta Roxa). These are large, hardy birds that lay an abundance of cream-colored eggs. Their gentle disposition makes them a farm favorite.
I will never ship you an egg I would not incubate myself, no significant thin shells or imperfections! I hate getting those from other sellers so will not ever do it to you! On that note depending on season hens DO NOT wipe their feet! Some smudges or a little dirt will not affect hatchability! I NEVER know when this BIN will sell and we do not store eggs. They might be ready right away or it could be a week delay depending on gathering and shipping days or an order ahead if you!
I  raise these birds here in Northern Idaho with only good shelter, so don't think these birds are frail. You can see Frostbite on my roo's combs!
