Our Dampierre breeding stock came direct from Greenfire Farms in 2019.
The Dampierre is the result of the work of three backyard poultry experts from
Normandy
during the late 20th century.  They worked to recreate a French chicken breed, the Normande, that had gone extinct more than a century ago. The Normande chickens existed in the
Normandy
region of
France
and had a feather crest on its head. It was known for its fine white meat, delicate bones, and abundant production of white eggs.
Points to consider when evaluating these birds for further breeding include the presence and shape of the feather crest, comb size and shape, and the general type of the bird. The number of Dampierre breeders is very small.
Thanks to Greenfire Farms for their recent import of this ultra-rare breed, we can add these beautiful chicks to our collection of Ultra-Rare chickens.
The hatching eggs you receive will come from our
Crested French Dampierre
chickens shown in the photos.
Our hens are young and their eggs are not as large as they will be when the hens are older.
We are having excellent fertility and hatch rates from them here on the farm.

inspected, tested, and NPIP certified.
Like all other breeders and sellers, we cannot guarantee a specific hatch rate on our shipped eggs due to factors and circumstances outside of our control such as handling during shipping and in the incubation hatching environment provided.

We securely package our eggs in
Professional Egg Shipping Foam and use Foil in case of accidental x-ray
to protect them during shipping. If you have broken eggs, please let us know within 24 hours of delivery and we will refund that portion of your order.
Photo of broken eggs will be required.
If you would like your eggs
HELD for PICK UP
at your local post office, please notify us with your phone number and contact person in the note area when you pay for the eggs.
Eggs will be shipped on
Mondays and Tuesdays by USPS Priority Mail
.
They usually arrive 2 to 3 days after we drop them off at the post office. Please give us a few days to gather the freshest eggs for you. We do send extra eggs when they are available on ship days.

Also, please keep in mind, we operate a working farm and it may take a little bit to reply to your questions. Please ask all your questions before bidding or purchasing the eggs. We will be glad to help you.

No refunds are given for any eggs that fail to develop or hatch. We cannot be responsible for postal damage or handling once we leave the package at the post office.
You are welcome to come to the farm to pick your eggs up in person.
We do not offer refunds (except for eggs broken during shipping), do not accept returns or ship free replacement eggs. If you cannot accept the risk associated with shipped eggs, PLEASE consider buying live chicks from a hatchery. Please be sure you agree to these terms before bidding.
