He was a very generous man in the Jordan neighborhood I believe of North Minneapolis in the 50s and 60s. He said he once stole a pumpkin as a child and he promised himself that when he could he would make sure that no child in North Minneapolis had to ever steal another pumpkin. He would line the street on Plymouth Avenue with baskets of free pumpkins for the kids. He was very very community-oriented. I don't know if he won this political race that he was in for the fifth congressional seat in Minneapolis but if he didn't he certainly deserve to!
