Back in the day, the Major League Baseball teams would mail to fans sets of individual pictures of their team as if they were movie stars! And they even added an autograph to each pix that was reproduced when the pix were printed!
Here is an authentic set of the 1948 Cleveland Indians ... there are 29 photos, including Bob Feller, Bob Lemon, Lou Boudreau, Satchel Paige and Larry Doby, plus all the other guys. Since 29 is an odd number for a set, I think one is missing, probably a picture of the Cleveland Stadium. Maybe "Hammerin'" Hank Greenberg who was GM? I don't know.
These pix measure about 9 x 6.5 and they are printed on a substantial paper and are in mint condition. Will be sent in the original envelope which is in fair-to-good condition. Please note it only cost 6 cents to mail this package back then!!! (How times have changed).
These have been in my baseball loving family for a couple generations, so only one owner so to speak, but now it's time to downsize.
