    DECKER, John William, a Representative from Centre County; born in Spring Mills, Centre County, Pa., December 30, 1898; B.S., The Pennsylvania State (University) College, 1925; supervisor of agriculture, Gregg Township Vocational School; owner and operator, Bellefonte Motor Sales; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 1935 term and reelected to serve the 1937 term; unsuccessful campaign for reelection to the House for the 1939 term; founder and president, Penns Valley Health and Welfare Association; unsuccessful campaign, State Senate (1950); board chair, First National Bank of Spring Mills; died, May 14, 1984 in Spring Mills, Centre County, Pennsylvania; interred, Holy Cross Cemetery, Spring Mills, Centre County, Pennsylvania.
