    Description

    Original 1908 large & impressive Wm. H. Taft For President celluloid button with red white & blue cloth ribbon suspension. The entire badge measures 6 inches long by 2 3/4 inches across the ribbons at the top. The ribbon suspension has a 1 1/2 inch diameter ornate metal frame mounted at the top which contains a 1 1/4 inch diameter celluloid button with the wording "East Penn Camping Club".
    The ribbon has hanging on the rings at the bottom a very large & impressive 2 3/16 inch diameter celluloid button with the wording "Wm. H. Taft For President". The Taft button is sepia with some subtle red highlights on his cheeks & some green on the background to the viewers right. There is a small area of green on the viewer's left printed over the sepia tone which is a minor flaw in the printing. There are a couple of tiny light spots on Taft's shoulder (viewer's left) that appear to be in the making.
    The back retains the original paper label of the : "W.. ber Badge and Novelty Co. Reading, Pa". Part of the name of the badge company is not readable. A rare Taft Pennsylvania Presidential campaign badge that was undoubtedly only produced in a very limited quantity in this format for specific distribution only to the East Penn Camping Club.
