SOME INFO:
We have been breeding & raising the Ayam Cemani chickens for over 10 years now. Our original stock came from Green fire farms when the prices for these Amazing birds were around 0 for an egg.
We have since added several lines to our breeding flock.
Over the years we have gained first hand knowledge of this breed.
The number 1 thing to take away is that ALMOST ALL of the pictures online are FAKE. While these chickens are very black, the darkest birds are rarely!! jet black. It is normal for roosters to have a deep, deep black comb with very deep red. Its a part of the rooster that is filled with blood, and no matter how dark they are, blood is still red!!
Hens on the other hand can have truly JET BLACK combs at times, and can be just Gorgeous.
BLACK IS BLACK but they can vary greatly. Even breeding our darkest chickens together we don't always get black chickens.
White toes, white feathers, COMPLEATELY WHITE CHICKENS happen.
If you are not breeding your birds ENJOY them. If you are breeding always select the best of the breed.
