Carlson Homestead is excited to offer barnyard mix hatching eggs! This listing is for 12 barnyard mix hatching eggs. My barnyard mix consists of two roosters to eleven hens.
My roosters are blue laced red Wyandotte (genes for light brown eggs) and a Cream Legbar (genes for light blue eggs). The hens are 3 Easter Eggers (mint green eggs), 2 Cuckoo Marans (dark brown eggs), 1 Olive Egger (olive green eggs), 1 Speckled Sussex (cream eggs), 1 Rhode Island Red (light brown eggs), 1 Buff Orpington (light brown/pinkish brown eggs), 1 Buff Brahma (light brown eggs), 1 blue Wyandotte (light brown eggs).
Because of the beautiful variety of egg colors in my flock, the hen chicks that hatch from these eggs will lay a variety of the same colors in similar shades.
There are so many variables that factor into a successful hatch, including rough handling by the post office, extreme temperatures during shipping, and variables with your own incubator. Due to so many factors that are out of my control, I cannot guarantee hatch rates. I can guarantee that your eggs will arrive unbroken. Please let me know right away if any eggs arrive broken. When possible, I include a few extras with your order - any eggs that arrive broken, beyond the extras that are included, will be refunded per egg. Please leave your review when you've received your eggs, NOT after the hatching process is complete.
I collect eggs at least twice (sometimes more) a day, and ship via USPS Priority (Priority Express is available as well, upon special request). I do not wash the eggs, as this will get rid of the "bloom", which is the protective coating that naturally coats the outside of the egg, helping to keep damaging bacteria out. Only the cleanest, best eggs will be sent, and the eggs will be no more than five days old when they ship. Each egg will be carefully packed in wood chips, pointed end down. I recommend providing a phone number with your order so that you can pick up your eggs as the post office when they arrive.
