    Description

Barred Plymouth Rocks are one of the oldest and favorite dual-purpose breed chickens on any small farm today.  They are an American breed developed at the historical site of Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts by the very first pilgrims.
Barred Rocks are excellent layers, laying around 200 brown eggs per year.  The are cold hardy and will continue to lay through the winter.  They have large meaty bodies making the great as a dual purpose breed.
Barred Rocks are found to be very docile and friendly.  They are a calm and adaptive breed and so can tolerate confinement fairly well.  They love attention and you will find they love to follow you everywhere you go.
With this purchase of 12 eggs, plus any extra I have on hand, you can be sure you are getting fresh free-ranged purebred fertile eggs.  Eggs are gathered from our Barred Plymouth Rock chickens daily, given the upmost care, and kept under the best conditions.  These laying hens are all young and this is their first season laying.  This will promise the best results possible.  Our eggs are packaged with individual care.  However, incubating and hatching eggs is a remarkable science and very sensitive.  Exact care and control is necessary to get the best results and so we cannot guarantee complete success.  We will be with you along the way if you have any questions or concerns.  Thank you for your business,
    Happy Hen's Holler
